Homeopathic medicines can be used for people with very severe withdrawal symptoms or if chronically unwell from having taken drugs, such as happened to a man in his 30s who became addicted to ‘P’.
Fired from his job in front of other people, he felt humiliated and became depressed. Eventually he decided to get off P ‘cold turkey’ but experienced intense paranoia. During this time he had massive headaches and kidney stones. He beat his own head in uncontrollable rages and had low self-worth - feeling like “the scum of the earth”.
Three years later he sought the help of a homeopath because P had “screwed him up”, leaving him an angry and depressed person. He had lumps under the skin that come up like small boils and discharged a yellow/white crystalline substance – like P in its unprocessed form. Everything made him intensely angry and he felt enclosed inside his house, as if he would explode. The only relief was 10 minutes in the garden in the morning having a smoke.
The homeopath prescribed a homeopathic medicine based on this feeling of being enclosed, angry and tense. Three days after taking one dose of the homeopathic medicine he felt more level-headed and balanced. He had a mild headache and slight nausea that went in two days.
After six weeks he felt more light-hearted, relaxed and positive. His skin improved and he was able to get a temporary job. After two months he felt better able to cope with his family and had cut down on his cigarette smoking as well. He took the homeopathic medicine on a daily basis during part of this treatment.
