Behavioural Difficulties & Food Allergies

Troy presented with behavioural issues associated with an intolerance to certain foods including dairy, peanuts, sugar and soy. He was on the go the whole time. His chest would get “clogged up” all winter and he would get a dry barking cough at night in bed. He would also grind his teeth in bed at night.

Troy loved cold milk, cheese and bananas; he craved the very foods he gets some reaction to. This is common. He wanted his mum’s company all the time. Troy went through a period of hitting other children at about 2 years of age and will hit his mum and his sister, but he could also be very affectionate. Night terrors had started 3 months prior.

Troy’s mum said he would kick and hit when mad or when he does not get his own way. This occurred in my clinic and confirmed the remedy that Troy needed to bring him back into balance.

Remedy
Troy was given a homeopathic medicine that is often give to children with feisty temperaments, who are often restless, easily bored and with a tendency to allergies and/or chest, ear, nose or throat conditions. Often we see a history of allergies or chest issues in the family trees of children who need this homeopathic medicine.

Follow up 2 months later
Troy had had a total of three doses of his homeopathic medicine over this period. Troy’s mum reported that, “Troy has progressively improved. Brilliant! Troy has been able to stay away at his Grandparents happily twice now - this was always very difficult before. Situations that would normally wind Troy up were handled much better, like Christmas Day. Troy is no longer hitting or kicking. Troy is also sleeping in his own bed now instead of coming into our bed.”

His mother writes “The change in family life with not having to deal with negative aspects of Troy’s behaviour is great. We went through two years of trying to manage Troy’s behaviour and couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel - after the remedy there was such a positive change he was pleasant again. His previous behaviour had not only reflected on the family but on social interactions as well. I use to worry about what Troy would be like in public”.
