Behaviour Difficulties in Young Boy

Boy aged 6 years when I first saw him. He had previously been to another homeopath from the age of 4 years, before the family moved to my area. The homeopath had given Tuberculinum which had "saved our sanity," said the mother. Before that remedy he had been a child who would never understand a first request. After the remedy he was able to understand and his behaviour had hugely improved.

When he was brought to the consultation at age 6, his behaviour had worsened again. He could go very quickly from loving to extreme negativity. He was fidgety and restless, yelling in other children's faces. Sometimes he would run out the door and be gone. His mother said, "He's very quick, just slips away." He had problems at school, being unable to complete his work, being distracted in class, and unable to focus and concentrate. With a repeat of the remedy he had had previously, his behaviour improved a little. He was seen at irregular intervals over the next few years with some remedies helping more than others.

By age 9 he was diagnosed as having auditory processing disorder. He talked very fast and couldn't concentrate in class. He was all over the place, sitting on the floor, under a table, moving around the room, very restless. Although he could read well his comprehension was not so good. In a shop he would be climbing behind the clothes racks. He often seemed as if he were in a different world.

After a seminar I attended in which the tutor spoke about children with similar problems to this boy, I asked the mother if she would like to try another homeopathic medicine for her son. We gave him Lithium phosphoricum. The result was a changed child. The homeopathic medicine was given at the end of a school year. When he began the next school year his new teacher did not know that he had been a behaviourally difficult child. The teacher was surprised to be told of his previous difficulties in class. Since then he has had one more dose of this same remedy.

I saw him this week, almost two years after the initial dose of Lith phos. He spoke clearly and well, at times a little quickly. He was quiet and calm in his chair and focussed well on my questions, answering clearly.
