Kate rang me at Christmas 2001 to report that 2 year old Connor was having night terrors: waking four times in the night shrieking and screaming, “I want Mummy”.
“He’s babbling all day too; he’s especially scared of dogs and spiders. He gets very panicked and paranoid if he sees a dog or a spider -- it’s as though he has had a fright!”
Other symptoms included: fear of Father Christmas, paranoia about being left behind or getting lost, anxiety near water and coming into his parents’ bed at night.
Connor had been left at play-centre by himself twice. He was happy the first time I left, but not so happy the second time.
When asked if he had had a fright Mum said he had been left at his Grandmother’s and thought it may have started from this as he had never stayed away from his parents before. He was very unhappy being left and he has “gone ballistic” when Kate has tried to go anywhere without him since then.
Remedy: I prescribed a homeopathic remedy helpful for ailments from fright which often manifest in night terrors and with a fear of dogs and water.
Response: Kate reported that Connor responded very well to the remedy.
The nightmares stopped almost immediately as did the fear of dogs. A few days later Kate repeated the remedy due to a return of Connor’s fear of being left behind.
