Post-Vaccination Difficulties

Ellie’s mother brought her for a consultation when she was 19 months old. Ellie’s mother had been hospitalized 28 weeks into the pregnancy because of high blood pressure and concerns about her liver. Ellie was born by emergency C-section four weeks later. She needed oxygen and couldn’t suckle for 14 weeks; she also had a hole in her heart, although because she is asymptomatic, the hole is being given a chance to close on its own. Otherwise, Ellie was in good health at birth.

At 2 weeks old, Ellie was diagnosed with Down Syndrome. Her development has been delayed; at 19 months, she wasn’t walking yet and had a vocabulary of just a few words. She was waking up about three times every night seeking comfort. Ellie’s eyesight is poor. When Ellie is well, she is very cuddly, yet she is also quite independent and likes to feed herself. She enjoys her food. Because Ellie didn’t have a bowel motion until she was 21 days old and because her motions were unusual in appearance and consistency, she had a biopsy to rule out Hirschsprungs Disease.

Through her first year, Ellie was frequently sick, with fevers and tonsillitis. She had difficulty breathing and would get very restless, rubbing her nose in bed at night. Her adenoids had been removed two months prior to the consultation. Ellie’s fevers were accompanied with prominent rashes, and once she had even gone to the hospital with suspected meningitis. It was observed that the fevers and rashes began after Ellie’s first MMR immunisation. In fact, ten days after the first shot she was sick for a month with what seemed to be measles. It was apparent to me that this child had suffered badly from the MMR immunisation and had never been well since then. It appeared that her body was frequently trying to clear itself of the ill effects of the vaccination through the repeated fevers and rashes.

Rx MMR 30c single dose

Ellie came for a follow-up appointment one month later. For two weeks after the remedy she had spots and fevers again. Then she recovered and has never looked back. She is now sleeping 12 hours per night. "She's a different child," says her mother.
